A LIVING HOPE

The knowledge that Jesus Christ gave His life for us on the cross is sobering, but we know His death was not the end, but the beginning of salvation—for those who believe.

John 19:30 says, “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

God sent His Son, Jesus, to bear the harsh indignities of humanity, even unto a painful death on the cross, so that we might be forgiven our sins and be with Him for all eternity. Jesus knew what He was here to do, and He loved us so much He accepted the sacrifice His father asked of Him, purchasing our salvation with His very lifeblood, and rising again three days later.

For Jesus, death was not the end. And because of Jesus, death does not have to be the end for us.

So much of what we experience in our lives is temporary…we cling to objects that decay and crumble to dust, and circumstances out of our control. But through faith in Jesus Christ, we are promised the hope of everlasting life. Death could not hold Jesus, and death will not claim victory over His children.

The Good News of Jesus’ sacrifice for us is at the center of our Christian beliefs, and our ultimate source of hope. Don’t keep the miracle of Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection a secret. Share your faith in God, and the story of Jesus’ sacrifice, at every opportunity.
