Message and Meaning of the Pray Vote Pray T-shirt

The mission of Pray Vote Pray is to raise the awareness of the privilege of asking God for wisdom, our duty to vote, and our biblical admonition to pray for our leaders.

The 2008 United States Presidential election race is building toward one of the most dramatic elections in recent history. The next President will have the opportunity to set direction on such critical issues as conflict in Iraq and the Middle East, Supreme Court justice nominations, the economy and so many other national topics.

As Christians we have the privilege, responsibility, and command from the Lord to PRAY. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says that if we will humble ourselves, pray and seek the Lord's face and turn from our wicked ways then God will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins and heal our land.

Edmund Burke was an Irish philosopher and statesman, the founder of the Annual Register and is regarded as the "father" of modern conservatism. He said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” This quote is a call for today's Christian to rise up, do good, and vote for righteousness, so that our nation can continue to be a great nation.

Proverbs 14:34 says, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people", so as you pray before voting, ask for wisdom and understanding. Let God lead you in casting your ballot for righteousness.

Prayer doesn't end at the polling booth; it's just the beginning. Regardless of party affiliation or preference our obligation is to Pray for those in authority over us according to 1 Timothy 2:2
