In God We Trust was adopted as the official motto of the United States in 1956. And while it's probably one of the most popular phrases in the nation, it's not without a bit of controversy. There are some who would like to remove all references from God within our government and in public places. But that phrase is the bedrock of our souls and a truth that every man, woman and child must take to heart.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, "But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
