U.S. Senator, John Thune said, “The flag of the United States of America, ‘Is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty and freedom. It is the history of our nation, marked by the blood of those who died defending it.’” When we remove our caps and hands are placed in reverence upon hearts, we are saluting more than a scrap of fabric.
We honor and respect our flag because of the sacrifices made to keep it flying, and in acknowledgment of the blessings, we hold dear as American citizens.
