Berryville, Arkansas – May 20, 2015 – Kerusso, the leader in Christian apparel and gifts, has announced a new partnership with the Kendrick Brothers who recently produced their fifth film titled WAR ROOM releasing August 28, 2015 from Sony Pictures Entertainment’s TriStar Pictures, distributor of Soul Surfer, Courageous and last summer’s faith-based sensation Heaven is For Real.
The partnership grants Kerusso rights to produce officially licensed merchandise and apparel for the upcoming film. “Working on a film like WAR ROOM is a blessing,” said Vic Kennett, Kerusso Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “It is always exciting to work on officially licensed products for movies, especially when it is for the Kendrick brothers. Their films are so powerful! They can literally change your life.” In the film WAR ROOM, Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving.
Tony and Elizabeth Jordan’s world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. While Tony basks in his professional success and flirts with temptation, Elizabeth resigns herself to increasing bitterness. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara, and is challenged to establish a “war room” and a battle plan of prayer for her family.
As Elizabeth tries to fight for her family, Tony’s hidden struggles come to light. Tony must decide if he will make amends to his family and prove Miss Clara’s wisdom that victories don’t come by accident. WAR ROOM marks the third movie from the Kendrick brothers to which Kerusso has held official rights.
Kerusso partnered with the Kendrick brothers for Fireproof (2008) and Courageous (2011) previously. “It is important that we partnered with a company that shares the same passion for spreading God’s word as our movies,” said Alex Kendrick, the film’s Director and co-writer. “We have such a great history of working with Kerusso that it just made that decision an easy one.”
Kerusso has been proclaiming the Good News to the world through products about Jesus for 28 years. Kennett started the company from his bedroom in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Kerusso now operates from a 10 acre facility in neighboring Berryville, Arkansas and is a major company in the area, employing more than 150 employees.
Originally from Athens, Georgia, the Kendrick brothers grew up northwest of Atlanta in the community of Smyrna. As sons of an ordained minister and schoolteacher, Shannon, Alex, and Stephen developed a love for creative arts, and have found additional success with their other films, Flywheel and Facing The Giants.
